Overview
Recently Runge Limited, an international mining support services company, moved its head office into a newly constructed building in Brisbane’s CBD. Required as part of a large interior fit out project were a number of fully equipped meeting rooms and an executive boardroom. B&H Australia were approached as one of five companies invited by Identity Design (the interior design company managing the fit out) to provide a quote on the initial equipment specification. From their the proposals were presented to Runge for the field to be narrowed down from five companies to two and the specification extended. After several rounds of revisions the room designs were finalised and B&H Australia was awarded the project.
To be completed were five fully integrated rooms following three system designs and a foyer LCD signage system spanning the companies 5 levels. Each of the rooms was to be equipped with a wide-format high-brightness Data Projector, motorised Projection Screen, PC, DVD and TV capabilities as well as allow for future expansion and the addition of Video Conferencing. Also each system had to be simple to operate and all the systems universal in their operation. Given this was the case AMX control systems were the obvious choice to control and manage the array of equipment being installed. Each room contains a wall mounted colour touch panel, with the exception of the Boardroom which also features a wireless MVP series colour touch panel.
The projectors selected for this project were Eiki LC-WB40N, a commercial quality WXGA data model boasting 3700 Ansi Lumens brightness and wireless connectivity. Screen Technics Electricinema screens were included due to their excellent ‘Connect’ module (making integration with a control system a breeze) and their high level of build quality. A selection of Panasonic full HD commercial plasma panels and Toshiba LCD panels can be found around the building being used as signage and video conferencing monitors.
Also integrated as part of the complete solution were motorised roller blinds and the buildings ECS lighting system. With a single button press on an AMX touch panel the room transforms with blinds and screen dropping, lights dimming and the projector coming alive to display the selected input.
Important to note is that this project was delivered on time and without defect and to the customers complete satisfaction.
